Summary

Lacrosse Tracker stores your game data locally on your device. On Android, the data is included in the device's standard Google Auto Backup so you don't lose your games when you switch phones. Anonymous usage analytics are sent on Android only — no personal data, no game content, no rosters.

Data Storage

All game data, team rosters, player statistics, and settings are stored in a local SQLite database on your device. Game content never leaves your device for primary storage; the app works entirely offline.

On the web/PWA version, that SQLite database is itself persisted to your browser's IndexedDB. There is no automatic cloud backup on the web — the only off-device path is the manual export feature below.

Backups (Android)

The Android app participates in Android's standard Google Auto Backup. When your phone backs itself up to your Google account (typically over Wi-Fi while charging), the app's SQLite database is included so you can restore your games when you set up a new device. The backup is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (Google's standard infrastructure encryption) — Google manages those keys, we do not. You can opt out of Auto Backup for this app from your phone's Settings → Google → Backup → App data screen.

The Android app is also included in Google's device-to-device transfer (Quick Switch / cable transfer) when you set up a new phone next to your old one.

Backups (iOS / web / PWA)

iOS native is not currently shipped. The web/PWA version has no automatic cloud backup — browsers do not sync site-scoped storage to any cloud. The only off-device path is the manual export feature: open the app, tap "Tools → Export", and save the JSON file wherever you want (email, Google Drive, etc.).

Anonymous Usage Analytics (Android only)

The Android app uses Google Firebase Analytics to record anonymous usage events (such as "game started", "stat recorded", "data exported"). This helps us understand which features are used and prioritise improvements. The web version does not use analytics.

Events sent are limited to feature names and aggregate counts (e.g. number of players on a created team). They never include:

• Player or team names
• Individual game results, scores, or rosters
• Names, email addresses, or contact information
• Precise location

Firebase additionally collects standard technical information (device model, OS version, app version, language, approximate country from IP address, and a pseudonymous app-instance identifier). This data is governed by Google's Firebase privacy policy. To opt out, use the web version of the app or uninstall the Android app.

What we do NOT do

• No user accounts or authentication
• No advertising
• No cookies (web version)
• No precise location data
• No selling or sharing of your data with third parties beyond Google Firebase as described above

Data Export

The app includes an export feature that creates a JSON file on your device. This file stays on your device unless you choose to share it. Import reads a file you select from your device.

Third-Party Services

The Android app uses Google Firebase Analytics as described above. No other third-party services, SDKs, or APIs are used.

Children's Privacy

The app is a tool for coaches to track lacrosse statistics. It does not collect personal data from children or anyone else; analytics events are anonymous and do not identify individuals.
